Vodafone volunteers roll up sleeves to support Foodbank
Colleagues from Vodafone teamed up to lend a helping hand at Paddington's local foodbank this October. North Paddington Foodbank serves individuals and families living in North Westminster who are experiencing food poverty. The Foodbank experienced an increase in demand in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and supported 27,512 people in 2020.
Vodafone volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a variety of tasks; helping to unload deliveries, preparing food parcels and sorting through donations. It was incredible to see the generosity of local businesses and individuals as donations of food, toiletries and essentials were welcomed throughout the morning. Colleagues worked alongside existing volunteers, getting food packages ready to be distributed throughout North Westminster.
The safety of our volunteers and community is our top priority, and we worked with the Foodbank to ensure this activity was as Covid-secure as possible. Volunteers were required to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test within 48 hours of the session, masks were worn throughout and hand sanitiser was readily available.
