Proposals for Waterside House
The owners of Waterside House in Paddington Basin, Brockton Everlast, have launched an initial round of consultation on proposals to sensitively refurbish and extend the building, securing its future for the next 100 years.
The proposals seek to create genuinely accessible and welcoming public spaces around the building, currently Marks and Spencer’s London HQ, for all to enjoy, including the canal and the wider Paddington public realm.
Prioritising sustainability, Brockton Everlast aim to retain over 90% of the existing building’s structure, sensitively upgrading and extending the building for modern requirements and the way we work today. To improve the carbon efficiency of the 2003 building, fossil fuel use within the building will be eliminated as part of the refurbishment.
At street and canal towpath level the proposals will activate the ground floor, as well as provide cultural, retail space and affordable workspace at the heart of Paddington Basin that will reflect and meet local priorities.
There will be two drop-in exhibitions, to find out more and see details of the proposals:
- Saturday 25 November, 10:00-14:00, at the Hilton London Paddington, 146 Praed Street, W2 1EE
- Wednesday 29 November, 15:00-19:00, at the Hilton London Metropole, 225 Edgware Road, W2 1JU
