Praed Street Public Realm Works

As Paddington Square nears completion, work to improve the roads and pavements around Paddington station and Praed Street commences.

From Tuesday 22 January 2024, to the end of May, highway and footway improvements will take place on Praed Street and London Street. This involves new crossings, new and wider pavements and resurfacing.

Works will be carried out in five phases over 15 weeks. To allow enough space for materials, plant and people working on site, pedestrian and traffic management measures will be implemented. Praed Street will be narrowed to a single running lane for traffic, under temporary signal control. Some footpaths will be closed, with pedestrian diversions in place. Access to businesses will be maintained.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm.
