Praed Street Pavement Widening Proposals
Westminster City Council is consulting on proposals to widen the pavement on the north side of Praed Street, outside the Hilton London Paddington, between London Street and Eastbourne Terrace.
This proposal includes the following key improvements:
- Widened pavement on Praed Street outside the Hilton London Paddington to provide additional space for pedestrians.
- Introduction of a mandatory cycle lane on the north side of Praed Street between Spring Street and London Street.
- 16 new cycle stands on widened footway.
- Four new trees.
- Resurfacing of the carriageway along the northern section of Praed Street between Spring Street and London Street.
You can view the highway drawings here.
The scheme will tie into the neighbouring Paddington Square, where the developer will undertake highway work to improve the public realm and install new crossing points at the junction of London Street. This was consulted on in December 2019 and is going ahead as part of Paddington Square works.
The pavement widening work on Praed Street could take place over the summer, subject to the results of consultation. To have your say, email by Friday 10 March 2023.
