A music-filled month ahead in Merchant Square
Following the success of the pop-up performances on Paddington’s Pocket Park last December; community choirs and school ensembles will be wrapping up warm and returning to Merchant Square to entertain this Christmas.
This year, groups will be performing by the Merchant Square fountains at lunchtimes and early evenings; with a repertoire of traditional Christmas carols, festive favourites and feel-good show tunes.
On Thursday 6 December, Merchant Square will turn on their Christmas lights with the support of pupils from the newly opened Marylebone Boys’ School. The school’s jazz band will be entertaining the crowds between 6:10pm and 6:30pm, as glasses of warming mulled wine and mince pies are served.
The Imperial Health Charity choir will be returning to Merchant Square on Tuesday 11 December, for one of their three Christmas performances this year. The group will also be holding an intimate concert for family and friends in St Mary’s Hospital Chapel and singing to patients on the wards.
