Merchant Square lights up for the festive season

With the holidays fast approaching, Paddingtonians are dusting off their Christmas jumpers and getting ready for the festive season. Merchant Square will be kicking off the celebrations on Wednesday 30 November, with an evening of merriment as they switch on their Christmas lights. From the Floating Pocket Park to St Mary’s Bridge, the area will sparkle with over 10km of fairy lights. Twinkly arches and festive deer will accompany their annual 20ft colour changing Christmas tree.

The switch-on event will take place from 5.30pm – 7.30pm, and will feature live music from The Bombshells playing Christmas classics. The first 150 guests will be treated to free mulled wine, cider or hot chocolate served by Lockhouse, and free mince pies will also be on offer to keep you in the festive spirit.

Keep an eye out for the illuminated stilt walkers, and be there to join the countdown at 6pm!
