Marks & Spencer deliver sandwiches and tasty treats to St Mary's staff
Marks & Spencer, whose Head Office is located in the heart of the Paddington Basin in the iconic Waterside building, has pledged its support for St Mary’s Hospital during COVID-19.
M&S has committed to delivering food to St Mary’s Hospital over the next two months. The bi-weekly deliveries will include prepared meals, fresh sandwiches and tasty treats; to help keep up staff morale and support health and wellbeing in these immensely challenging times.
NHS colleagues at Great Ormond Street will also receive these M&S goodies, whilst across the UK the retailer is drawing on its clothing business to support the health service. T-Shirts and pyjama sets, which can function as scrubs, are being supplied as part of uniform packs for staff; and emergency clothing packages are being prepared for patients to wear on discharge from NHS Nightingale London.
“We’re doing our bit to help the NHS by focussing on what we do best - providing great food and clothes - in the hope we can make it just a little easier for our NHS heroes to do what they do best, as well as the patients in their care. At a time when everyone is facing into personal challenges and our own frontline colleagues are working round the clock - it’s heartening to see the whole nation is getting behind the fantastic NHS teams we’re relying on right now. We really are all in this together and I’m delighted we have been able to turn some of those ideas into action.” Steve Rowe, CEO, Marks & Spencer
M&S is also working hard to support NHS workers in its stores, with dedicated shopping hours for emergency, health and social care workers on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Both M&S Waterside and Edgware Road branches remain open at the current time.
