M&S Digital & Tech volunteers celebrate a month of giving back to Paddington
Throughout February, M&S colleagues in the Digital & Tech team contributed 400 hours of volunteering in and around Paddington, supporting an incredible 1000 beneficiaries! With support from The Paddington Partnership, a tailored programme of volunteering activities was designed, all with M&S volunteers’ skills and interests in mind.
Activities included a pampering session at The Marylebone Project, cooking a warm meal at a local care home, offering IT support to reduce digital exclusion at St John’s Hospice, painting classrooms, gardening and hosting careers talks at local schools to inspire future generations.
Over the month, D&T colleagues donated nearly 400 hours to improve our local community. Volunteers said it was incredibly rewarding, humbling, and inspiring working with different charities to make a difference to people’s lives. Our colleagues loved taking part and feel passionate about doing more community initiatives. Thank you so much to Paddington Partnership for providing these amazing opportunities and making the volunteering experience so seamless.

Other highlights from the month have included M&S volunteers hosting a Valentine’s Day themed afternoon tea at Cosmic, which saw volunteers serving delicious M&S treats to hospital staff and families at St Mary’s Hospital. M&S volunteers also used their creative talents to host a Valentine’s Day craft event at Open Age, producing beautiful handmade cards and gifts.
It’s been a busy month, but M&S colleagues have gone above and beyond to make each volunteering event a big success and we are incredibly proud of the impact M&S colleagues have had in the local community.
If your company is planning a dedicated volunteering day, week or month and would like our support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Community Team. We would be delighted to chat to you further.
